The Archaeology Society provides access to many opportunities both social and academic. Primarily they aim to make student life a more simple and enjoyable experience for those studying or who have an interest in Archaeology. They provide a new social circle to help members meet new people both off and on their course. They do this by having regular socials of many varieties including pub and club socials and also more laid back non alcoholic socials for those less inclined to drink and party, but this is just naming a few. They also provided members with unique archaeological opportunities such as access to archaeological excavations and trips to sites that might otherwise be unreachable to students. They also try to provided access to intramural sports, such as football and badminton to name a few. As several members of the new committee are also involved in RAG (raise and give) the Archaeology society will also be taking part in charity initiatives to try and raise money for RAGs designated charities. As well as socials and trips they also provide support for members who do study Archaeology or are doing some Archaeological modules, as most of our members and committee are in the later stages of completing an Archaeology related degree, we can help members with their academic work, many of Archsoc will have hit similar obstacles to those that first years will find in their path. At the end of each year we also allow members to stand for a position on the committee, which are mentioned above, this allows dedicated and keen members of Arch Soc to be apart of the runnings of the society in the next year and also improve their skills and CV in the process.
